Learning to Cooperate with Grace through the Inner Work of Transformation
Learning to Cooperate with Grace through the Inner Work of Transformation
We are living in a world of hurt, in an age of anxiety and loneliness. Religious Life, indeed, all of life within our planetary home, is going through a Great Turning. It is a time of enormous transition characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. In times like these it is easy to lose our way, our hope for the future, even our rootedness to own true selves. Times like these are rife with peril yet replete with the promise of new life. How can we seize this promise of new life?
While we cannot engineer or guarantee new life, we can create the conditions for new life to emerge. We can learn to cooperate with grace by doing our own soulwork, our own inner work of transformation. We can learn to listen to our hurt, anxiety and loneliness, rather than silence what these have to tell us. If we can learn the ways of transformation, we will have a hand in facilitating the emergence of new life within ourselves. If we do our own inner work of transformation, we become agents of transformation for Religious Life and common home.
This two-day gathering will not be for the faint of heart. It will engage participants in the soulwork of transformation. We will explore the pathways of deep change by reflecting upon and sharing our own personal experiences of transformation. Modern research, as well as ancient and contemporary faith traditions, have taught us a great deal about the nature of transformation. While we will touch upon these, this workshop will focus primarily upon your own experiential learnings. We will glean from your own life lessons what the school of heart has taught us about how to cooperate with grace through the inner work of transformation.
Please note this two day workshop begins each day at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. Central time. There are 2 scheduled breaks along with a 60 minute lunch from 11:30 - 12:30 (CT) to avoid screen fatigue. All workshop materials are mail to your home before the workshop begins.

NRVC recommends that vocation ministers participate in ongoing educational opportunities to attend to their own vocation, faith formation, and to further develop their professional competencies.
